About us

The formation of the Alliance of Ohio Chambers (AOC) was enabled by legislation passed in Ohio in the early 1990’s. The focus of the legislation was small employer group health insurance reform. Specifically, by meeting certain requirements, AOC could file with the Ohio Department of Insurance for a Certificate of Authority to operate as a “qualified alliance”. The primary advantage to becoming a “qualified alliance” is the ability to negotiate agreements with insurance companies to offer specially discounted rates on group health care coverage through alliance members. AOC is comprised of a number of chambers in west-central Ohio representing over 6000 employers. Through the strength of this partnership, AOC offers special discounting on group health care plans as well making available to its members special pricing on other value-added products and services. AOC leadership continues to look for additional services that may be of interest to its members.
